Programmes
Practical creative learning, start to finish.
Three programmes are featured here. Each one is built so that participants leave with something they made: writing, a recording, a beat or a performance.

RAP Workshop
Rhythm and Poetry Workshop. Schools, youth settings, alternative provision and community organisations.
A practical creative-writing programme using rhythm, poetry, rap and music. RAP Workshop is one of the main entry points into NLTeach, and it's designed to show how an idea becomes structured writing.
Sessions can cover ideas, rhythm, rhyme, lyric writing, creative expression and communication, with performance as an option rather than a requirement. Freestyle is used as a teaching and demonstration tool. The workshop can be adapted around different subjects, themes and learning contexts.
RAP Workshop Plus
The progression option. Plus takes participants beyond the introductory workshop into songwriting, verse development, arrangement, rehearsal, recording, studio experience and post-production.
initial workshop → focused development → completed recorded work
Partnership programme
Amplify
Creative Expression Programme. Developed and delivered in partnership with Mama Bee.
Amplify supports participants to explore ideas, experiences and personal expression through spoken word, poetry, rap, expressive writing and other forms of creative communication.
The programme brings together discussion, debate and reflection with creative writing, recording, performance and sharing. It is participant-led while still providing structured creative development.
The partnership
Amplify is developed and delivered in partnership with Mama Bee and is not delivered independently by NLTeach. Mama Bee brings specialist youth and community engagement and relationship-led practice; NLTeach brings creative-expression, writing and music-based practice. Both are essential to the programme.

Beat Chop Shop
Make beats on an Akai MPC.
Beat Chop Shop is a practical beat-making workshop and our first public route into the production side of NLTeach.
It is expected to cover rhythm, sampling, sequencing, beat construction and hands-on Akai MPC workflow, with the creative practice and history around sampling running through it.
Beat Chop Shop is still in development and not yet open for delivery. Let us know if you'd like to hear when it launches.

A wider music-production pathway
We're building out learning across audio and MIDI production, MPC production, recording, editing, mixing, mastering, composition, arrangement and sampling. Beat Chop Shop is the first part of that to reach the public.
